Previously, you learnt XML Syntax and now you will learn XML Structure.
Why know XML Structure
To make well formed and suitable XML documents, one must understand how XML stores data, i.e. the structure of a XML document. You need to remember that XML organises information in hierarchical manner.
Understanding XML Structure
Notice the example below-
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
Here the root tag book has child or branch tags like title, author and pages under it.
And the branch tag author further has two branch tags firstname and lastname under it.
Have a look at a representation of Information in Hierarchical form ,
From this we can infer that an XML document is actually an inverted tree!
